These two photos were taken 40 years apart. In the first one, I was 3 years old, enjoying Christmas with my mom, my dad and my gram.

In the second one, taken last year, my cousin's daughter sits next to my gram, my step mom Doris and my dad.

This is the first Christmas we'll have without my dad or Gram. Dad passed away in March, Gram passed away this Dec. 1st. A very different Christmas, for sure. We miss them, but we know they're not far away. Miss the hugs, though.
