I know I shouldn't gloat. But I found myself thinking of this all day. Uberbrat Conrad Black, the millionaire newspaper baron who couldn't resist giving himself fraudulent payouts, started his incarceration in a Florida prison today.

What grand news. People who break the law need to serve time. I'm sure he will work the system too. Have a great WW. :)

All his money couldn't keep him out of jail. Glad to see this was the case. Happy WW

I'm glad there is still justice in this world.... The rich and powerful do pay, though it is still rare, for it if they break the law.

US has a huge prison population. Wouldn't it have served the world better if he had to give up a large part of his money to charity? And then actually work at those charities?

The rich isn't easily satisfied with the huge amount of $$$ they have. They always want more. Maybe what drove him to do something so foolish was the thrilled of doing something bad to see if he could get away with it.

Annie Mac - I'd love to see that happen in general.

Tempest - Conrad Black is so bored and jaded I wonder if it's possible for him to feel anything resembling a thrill.

Sometimes justice is actually served in our warped legal system huh? (and I work in that warped legal system) ;-)

Lord Black publicly dissed his Canadian citizenship in his quest to obtain a British title from the Queen. After he succeeded, and looked to be convicted, he tried to get Canadian citizenship back again, which many people assumed was motivated by a wish to serve his sentence in a Canadian rather than American prison. I doubt many Canadians are saddened that he did not get his way...

What a great photo, it tells so much without saying a word.
