Poetry Train Monday - 57 - Fly Me To The Moon

My niece Christi married her sweetheart, Jeremy on July 11th, which also happened to be my 16th wedding anniversary. She chose her special day to coincide with ours, and my heart was full of love for her all day long. We couldn't be there to share their beautiful event, because we were in Yarmouth to celebrate my grandmother's life and lay her to rest with my grandfather.

For this week's Poetry Train, I'm dedicating one of my favorite Frank Sinatra ballads to Christi and Jeremy.

Fly Me To The Moon

Fly me to the moon
And let me sing among the stars
Let me see what spring is like
On Jupiter and Mars

In other words, hold my hand
In other words, baby kiss me

Fill my heart with song
And let me sing for ever more
You are all I long for
All I worship and adore

In other words, please be true
In other words, I love you

- Bart Howard, 1954

Very nice.

Yes my cousin got married on the 12th. My other cousin was a bridesmaid and the MC she gave this speech that had me balling.

See me, my cousin, my brother and the groom (also my cousin), we spent every summer together. And I mean EVERY summer together.

We grew up. So yeah, it got emotional. I still can't believe he got married.

I think of my two cousins like they are my brother and sister.

And hoping that choosing the same day as your husband and you will give them as much luck and love as the two of you!

Congratulations Christi on your special day. I hope everything was perfect and your future together is as strong as Julia's.

Julia, I am sorry you couldn't be with Christi on her day but, I think she knows how much you love her and wanted to be with her.

I am sorry for your loss and hope that your grandmother's life tribute went well.

I want to say congrats to you and your husband for 16 years of marriage. Hope you were able to remember each other in a quiet moment or two.

Lastly, I love your choice of dancers/ actors below. Mikhail is the best ballet dancer alive. I could watch him everyday. Beautiful body. I also love Viggo, Johnny, Mark, Brad, Joaquin and Vince. They are spectacular actors.

Your blog is always nice to drop by. Have a nice day.

They're so lovely... *sigh*

I'm just sorry you had to miss it, but you can't exactly clone yourself. Two important things happening on the same day. That's rough.
