My Precious Xena Has Gone to Her Final Rest

To all of my readers and friends:

My 11-year-old Nova Scotia Duck Toller/Beagle mix passed away on Friday after a week's illness.

She was a warrior princess to the end. She did not complain, even though she had a hard week. She even continued to make friends in the lobby at the vet's office, even though it turned out to be her final visit there.

When I'm able to post about the glorious time we spent together, I'll share her life story here at A Piece of My Mind.

Once again, Scorpius' latest installment is being rescheduled to next week.

Again, my heartfelt sympathies for your loss, Julia. Do you know the story, The Rainbow Bridge? I have that up on my bulletin board next to a picture of my first German Shepherd to remind me that we will meet again.

Take care <3

Janet - I also have a framed portrait of our old dog, Nikki in my bedroom. She stays close by me, always. Thanks for your sympathies, as only a dog lover can send.

Travis - When Mr. Tucker passed last year, I was very sad for your loss. We get to know so many great furry friends through blogging, as well as people. Thanks, Travis.

Andy - Thanks for your hugs. She loved us, and we loved her. And now it's painful without her.

Akelamalu - Thanks. I can feel your hugs helping right now.

My sincerest condolences on the loss of your beloved Xena; it sounds like she was a wonderful companion and I've got no doubt she's left a good-sized chunk in your lives at her passing.

Oh Julia, I'm so sorry. I remember my kitty, Sheena's last visit to the vet. It's heartbreaking. Sending cyber-hugs to you.

I am so sorry to hear about poor Xena. What a wonderful dog she must have been. I had to put my Mickey down Thanksgiving 08 and I still miss him terribly. He was almost 16. Hugs!

Julia, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I had to euthanize my beloved Bandicoot over 4 years ago, and some days it feels like it was yesterday. I know every day hurts, but it will get better and you'll be able to smile at the memories. She looks beautiful in that picture. ((((Hugs))))
