5 on Friday -- Set 187

Travis at Trav's Thoughts invites everyone to lay down a short set of music that takes their fancies for his 5 on Friday meme.

This week's set was inspired by a serenade at the 50th wedding anniversary celebration this past weekend for my high school choir friend Dawn's parents, Mike and Mary.

A teenaged cousin sang this opening song, which brought immediate tears to pretty much every woman at the party who had been a teenager in 1963, when Mike and Mary walked down the aisle. I thought it was a perfect choice, especially that it was sung by a young voice filled with the hopes and dreams of a young bride.

1 - To Know Him is to Love Him - The Teddy Bears

2 - One Fine Day - The Chiffons

For this week's 5 on Friday, let's take a walk down memory lane to 1963, the year Mike and Mary said 'I do'.

3 - Our Day Will Come Ruby and The Romantics

4 - So Much in Love - The Tymes

5 - Then He Kissed Me The Crystals

My it must be something in the air. You went to the 60s as well. One Fine Day is a big favorite from that year. Happy anniversary to your friends.

There's definitely more than enough room for sappy romantic tunes, especially the ones you chose for this Set.

And we're always safe when we go to the 1960s for our selections!
