This is a still photo from a performance of 'Die Walkure' by Wagner. Canadian Opera Company world premiere of the Ring Cycle in Toronto. Here the Valkyries carry the heroic fallen to Valhalla.
Just a note: this is a photo taken by Michael Cooper during a dress rehearsal. Not by me during a performance. That is never recommended! No picture taking during live performances.
Zam, here's a link to the Ring Cycle info for the Canadian Opera Company. There's a wonderful gallery of photos from each of the four operas. They debuted from Sept. 12 - Oct. 1, 2006 in Toronto. They were historic performances, as the entire Ring Cycle had never been staged before in Canada by a Canadian company.
I had the pleasure of seeing them as they were slowly debuted (before the actual full Ring Cycle in the new house) and they were absolutely amazing in so many ways.
