Welcome - feel free to stroll about my cyber art gallery. Today I'm featuring artist Paulette Phillips.
We first met 42 years ago as she donned the motherhood hat. From my perspective, an excellent fit.
Paulette began painting in the early 1980's, beginning with oils but switching to watercolor ink and sand. She prefers the textures she achieves with that medium. Enjoy your visit and thanks for dropping by!

Oh - there she is - let's get in a little closer. She's putting down her champagne - "Hi!" she's saying (big hug to you out there in the Blogosphere.) "I'm the Mom - Paulette. I want to thank my sweetheart daughter Julia for showcasing my art. I'm happy to share it with all of you and I'm inspired to create more."
You're very talented, Ms. Phillips. I'm particularly drawn to "Ships at Sail" and "The Voice", but they're all lovely. And the colours are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your mom's paintings with us, Julia! :-)
Yes, I love the colors in Ships at Sail and the Stare of the Dragon. The colors in all are so vibrant.
ReplyDeleteLoving Mom's fancy boa! Is that special for the opening? Great color.
ReplyDeleteFantastic paintings! Thanks for sharing them with us!
ReplyDeleteActually, Camille, Mom's had that boa for a few decades. She got it at the same time as a pair of fishnet stockings, I do believe. But she reached for it immediately to get her picture taken for this TT. Which my uncle took.
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you too Paulette!
ReplyDeleteMy faves were Earth Tracks and Fairy Dance.
Thanks for sharing your mom with us, Julia!
I especially enjoyed "Free Spirit" and "Ships at Sail"
ReplyDeleteHappy TT!
Thank you for your visit.
What a talented Mom you have. I like Ships at Sail and the Bee one. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteI too like The Voice and The Fairies.

ReplyDeletei can see your love for what you are doing in every brush stroke Ms. Phillips.
Lava Flow is my favorite. Gorgeous work.
ReplyDeleteOh, WOW. Ms. Phillips, you have such a gift -- a marvelous talent! I love your sense of color, and while I loved each painting, my favorites were "Fairy Dance" and "Free Spirit" -- absolutely breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing them with us. :)
Great work! I especially like the triptych!
ReplyDeleteYou come up with the absolute best TT's. Always a joy to stop by.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
~Toni~

ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful mom. So talented. I've enjoyed browsing through her paintings. Thank you for sharing her work.
ReplyDeleteI had to skip TT this week. I'll catch up next week.

ReplyDeleteJulia, thanks for the comment and yeah, I just can't lose my sense of humour and that's a good thing! LOL!!!!
Happy TT!
Oh I love 'Jesus Blesses the Children'and 'The Bee'! Those are absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteRock on Mom!
ReplyDeleteYou are very fortunate -- you indeed have gifted eyes and hands, and you have a loving and caring daughter.
Thanks for sharing your incredible talent,
Bill
Wow, they all look so amazing when viewed together like this. I confess I'm biased - I like Earth Tracks. And guess what, I bought it! It's in my entry hall, so it is one of the first things my guests see when they come to visit.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful works!
Oh these are beautiful!!! You struck a chord in me - lol. You know I can't resist this! Hahaha! BEAUTIFUL, JULIA. Thanks for sharing. Ms. Phillips is very, very talented, her works are amazing!!
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you Paulette. Your work is beautiful and very creative. I have used inks in the past, but the mess I made on the worktable usually looked better than the painting I was attempting.
ReplyDeleteYour lovely daughter is indeed a sweetheart. Here's to inspiration!
Lovely. I especially like 3.
ReplyDeleteHi Julia:
ReplyDeleteOver the years, I've always been impressed when your mother came out of her painting studio with a new work of art.
Seeing them all together on your virtual galley has raised their artistic value to a new level...I'm doubly impressed!
great comments from your viewers!
Cheers,
Driftwood Dude,(better known to you as Uncle Charlie.)
hi julie, wandered over after your comment on my baby blog.
ReplyDeleteyour mom is an outstanding artist. i adore abstract and had a nice little collection growing before my kids came along and decided their collections were more urgent.
Funny I usually don't like nonrepresentative art, but there's something warm about these I really do like...
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you for inviting me to your opening! Everything is so lovely! I'm drawn the 'the bee' very well done! Excellent gallery!
ReplyDeleteOh, those are wonderful paintings! I particularly love "The Voice" and "Fairy Dance," but they're all evocative. I'm sure the computer monitor doesn't do them justice.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors - what a wonderful sense of mood they create. I think The Bee is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteIts all very breathtaking!!
ReplyDeleteNow, where is my champagne?
Awesome stuff! I really like the Earth and the Dragon.
ReplyDeleteWatercolor and sand is a medium I've never seen done before. Really cool; I'll have to learn more about this.
Wow, you have a very talented mother! I love all of them, I can't pick a favorite!
ReplyDeleteHappy TT!
Wow! I was an art major in college. I LOVED these pieces. Tell your mom she is SOOO talented! How does she get the mesh effect in her work? You can write me a personal email if you want. I think my address is on my info page.
ReplyDeleteWow, those are wonderful, Julia! I'm partial to Jesus Blesses the Children, myself. Kudos to Mom!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous art! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'm going with "Ships at Sail" too. I also like "The Bee" and "Earth Tracks" in particular.
ReplyDeleteWow.... I'm speechless! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my Mabon TT.
Those are beautiful, really magical. I think my favorites are Earth Tracks and Free Spirit.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing these with us.
Thankyou Julia for sharing your Mom's art - they are absolutely stunning - as is your Mom! :)
ReplyDeleteI love them all (But I'm biased because she's my Mom too!) I was looking at them again and thinking that 'Free Spirit' might be considered a self-portrait of sorts... then I thought again and decided that they are ALL self-portraits.
ReplyDeleteI really ship at sail and the voices!!
ReplyDeleteYou can say to your mom that I really like the mix of her colours.
those are freaking awesome!!!
ReplyDeletei think we need to have Kate Willoughby, who features an artist on her blog every friday do a link and post on your mom. I'll send her over! Gorgeous work!
I love them! What a talented Mom you have!
ReplyDeleteI love how the colors melt together.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments on my 13. :)
Wow, amazing. I love them all, but I think I love #7, Fairy Dance, the most.
ReplyDeletewow, those colors.
ReplyDeleteI love 'Jesus Blesses the Children'and the 'Lava'.
