  1. Yes, this is me - holding an actual Oscar in my hands. This picture was taken about 14 years ago at the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto.

The National Film Board of Canada had one of their many Oscars on display, and for $10.00 you could get your picture taken with one. So obviously I couldn't pass that up.

  2. That must have been fun! Do you know the movie this award was attached to? Great fun there, Julia!

  3. Sandy - I believe it was for an animated short film.

  4. Julia, they have that set up in NYC too! I didn't know they charge you for having the picture taken but it's worth it!! Happy WW! :)

  5. Teach - they may not charge in NYC, but the Film Board did. All money raised would have gone towards funding young filmmakers, so I support that.

  6. Very cool, and if it's for a good cause on top of it all, even better! Did you say "I'd like to thank the academy" while you were holding it? I wouldn't have been able to resist!

  7. LOL Karina! Actually, for a brief moment I wondered if I could make it look like I was in the middle of my acceptance speech. But then I realized I was wearing a tshirt.

  8. Great picture!

Go on, admit it, you broke down in tears and thanked the sponsors :-)

  9. I love it! LOL When I first saw this picture, I thought you were holding out on us!

So, no big surprise at what you'll be doing on Sunday evening. I'll be glued to my tv as well. Just saw Juno for the second time. Hope Ellen Page wins!

P.S. Great running into you today. :-)

  10. I can't believe they made you pay to hold it! That's like ho'ing out poor Oscar! But it's a lovely pic and I'd have believed you if you just said it was yours and that was your living room. ;)
