You know, I bet that was really fun! Not that I'm into pot or free love, but rolling around in the mud and listening to great music sounds like a blast. LOL
ReplyDeletean interesting share :)
ReplyDeleteTruly Trying Thursday
Very interesting line of up of songs. I like the Jimi Hendrix one! How have you been?
ReplyDeleteWe thought Joe Cocker had cerebral palsy. Richie Havens had no teeth but he does now. I recently saw him play.
ReplyDeleteAhh, Woodstock's 40 anni! What a great selection of songs. Hope you're having a great summer.
ReplyDeleteYou've captured the mood here! I saw Richie Havens in Connecticut a few years ago. What an experience. There is something timeless in all of this very immediate music.
ReplyDeleteI was a baby then, but I love the scene in Walk on the Moon with Viggo Mortensen's character at Woodstock! LOL!
ReplyDelete*hugs*

I've always wished I was there for this. It is such a tragedy Janis's time on earth was so short. Happy T13!
ReplyDeleteYou were at Woodstock? Very cool!I've heard about Woodstock, but I've never met anyone who was actually there.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't there but I love those songs!
ReplyDeleteAhh.... I had a friend in Grad school who'd been there as a journalist. Hate to say it, but his stories about things OTHER than Woodstock were better than his Woodstock tales.
ReplyDeleteThat's sure some kind of line up.
ReplyDeleteMs Snarky Pants - My husband and I enjoyed our own personal Woodstock concert while I set up the post last night. Got really into the fringe, baby.
ReplyDeleteAmericanising Desi - It's all about peace and love, baby.
Nikki - I LOVE Foxy Lady. And I've been busy, baby. *falling asleep on the bus*
Colleen - *giggle*
Kim - Seems crazy that it's 40 years. Why, it seems like only yesterday that I was 4-and-a-half years old and quite obviously not at Woodstock. But my dad was into Hendrix and Blood Sweat & Tears, so I did groove to these at home.
My summer has been very hectic at work with too many people out of the office at the same time. And yet my summer has set me on my acupuncture adventure for my chronic pain problems. Feeling good!
Sandy - My husband's a big fan of Richie Havens. Cool that you saw him in concert.
Paige - Who couldn't dig Viggo, baby?
Adelle - Me too - and then I realized that YouTube was giving me the chance, all these years later! Groovy, baby.
Brenda ND - No, no! LOL! I was 4-and-a-half years old in 1969, and definitely not with half a million hippies in Upstate New York. But that would have been groovy, baby.
Akelamalu - I always love your playlists over at Everything and Nothing. Definitely groovy, baby.
Susan - How cool! His stories are taunting me, now...
Travis - Isn't it freaky?
There are a few classics there. Interesting list.
ReplyDeleteI was there and here most of them - albeit some were muffled by the throng of dancing, stoned people around me, lol. Stop by my post 40th Anniversary of a Hippie Happening: Woodstock for some interesting things about Woodstock that most people don't know.
ReplyDeleteShelley - When I look at the list of performers, it's beyond awesome.
ReplyDeletePop Art Diva - Squee! How cool!!! I'll be right over.
