  1. Wow - that was a beautiful Ode to Canada - and our wonderfully talented artists. I'm going to come back during the day and listen to all the songs - just had time this morning for the first one (I love Susan Aglukark).

And thanks for the reference to the Friendly Giant - I always called for the rocking chair before my brother.

  5. The Olympics are going to be in my own time zone this time!

This was a great tribute to the music and musicians of Canada. I'm really looking forward to your Winter Games. I think you're going to be a fantastic host.

  6. BTW, I know it's not strictly about Canada but it was written by a Canadian. You left out United Breaks Guitars: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YGc4zOqozo

  11. Great list Julia!!! The Canadian Railroad trilogy is one of my favorites. Another great Canadian song IMO is "King of Spain" by Moxy Fruvous (actually I love pretty much all their songs). And Mushaboom by Feist...we are country blessed by great singer-songwriters.

    Love the Thursday 13!!!

  12. I do like Nikelback. Diana Krall is actually on tour here in NZ at the moment. We just watched a documentary about Billy Connelly traveling from coast to coast of Canada. The scenery was gorgeous.

  13. Talk about an eclectic mix of talent we have in this fine country! From Geddy Lee to Cohen and every genre in between.
Thanks for the reminder, and thanks for not including Celine cause that would have made me roll my eyes ;)
