  1. My aunt and uncle spent a much-needed getaway in Cuba several weeks ago. In fact the day they left we had snow.

It's their second trip to Cuba and they loved it. And on the grounds of their hotel they found this statue of John Lennon.

  5. I wonder what Lennon was reading? Did your uncle say they played much Beatle music there?
I like Imagine of his the best.
    Happy WW/WT!

  9. "Why, that's John Lennon!" My reaction to the photo, naturally. How neat that your uncle discovered it in Cuba. I had a friend in highschool named Julian. He hated his name and eventually legally changed it to Logan. A year later, Julian Lennon became quite popular. Sometimes 'tis better to leave well enough alone???

  10. Interesting, I didn't know about this at all. I haven't been to Cuba, but I know a lot of people who either have been there or actually come from there!

Here is my WW post for today.

    Have a great WW day!

  12. That reminds me of when my youngest brother was being read a story in bed. He'd lean over, point to a word on the page and say, "have you got to THAT word yet?"!!

  13. Great photo. Funny, I was thinking about John Lennon today since his song Imagine was playing while I was at the hairdressers. I must buy a copy at Itunes.

  14. Great photo. And makes me curious why the statue is at that hotel. Did they ask the staff? (lol That's something I would do.)

We visited Strawberry Fields in Central Park last year. Some people were crying, some were arguing over something that had to do with John Lennon, and then others were just quietly observing it all like we were. I felt sad, imagining him leaving his home and being gunned down. No one should have that happen to them.

  15. Flowerpot - I love kid logic.

Annette - amazing that John evokes passions like that even now.

  16. The crying kind of threw me, but I guess for some people, his death still hits them hard.
