I watched this Russian time travel film on You Tube without any subtitles. I did pretty well! My Russian is getting better and better.
Here's the link if anyone else is so inclined:
We Are From the Future
It follows a group of modern 20-something jaded Saint Petersburg residents who dig on old WWII battlegrounds for military memorabilia, which they sell on the black market.
One of the group is a Neo Nazi thug, who tries to use an unearthed skull for target practice. This sets up the time travel portal for this group of young men to meet the men whose grave they just disturbed.
Really enjoyed it. My interest in actor Daniil Strakhov led me to this one, as it is leading me to many excellent projects.

Believe it or not, I'm re-watching the Russian historical drama Bednaya Nastya (Poor Nastya) now that I've discovered the fully-subtitled version on Viki.com.
My husband and I are gobbling up this show like starving maniacs. What I love most about it: the good guys don't have to be shiny, although the bad guys don't show too many Save-the-Cat moments to make them more agreeable. In this show, even the good guys do things that truly shock the viewer, and then have to pay a karmic price for their wrongdoing. It's awesome.
Brad and I watch one episode per day, which tends to eat up my movie-watching time, but I'm having too much fun in Imperial Russia.
Just want to say a massive shout-out to subtitler Agatha for helping me to understand what they were saying! *kiss kiss kiss*

Snow White & the Huntsman was a good movie but those special effects were awesome. i've heard about Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter too. i just haven't seen it. thanks for the link to We Are From The Future... i'll have to check it out sometime. hope all is well. have a great day~
I had the Abraham Lincoln book in my head several months ago. I also considered it for my Kindle not long ago. Something kept me from pushing the button.
What do you think? Is it worth the time?
Travis, I haven't read the book, but I loved the film version. A big reason for that is because of the director, so it really isn't easy to say that the book must automatically be just as good.
