A Fun Time Had By All

This retreat kicked ass.

Saturday was so energizing, it took me quite awhile to fall asleep. Normally, I'm out by the time my head hits the pillow. Like the first night, for example.

But four workshops, five cups of coffee, an afternoon viewing of Stephen Frears' "The Queen", an evening walk along the oceanfront nature trail to the resort, an exquisite dinner and fabulous conversation, a starlight amble back to the cottage and a late night viewing of "Casino Royale" later, how could I sleep?

I need to digest everything over the next few days. So much to take in! But I can feel it already coursing through my veins. New insight unfurls itself in my mind like the buds on my forsythia bush in the front yard.

Happy spring! New beginnings. Fresh direction. Revitalized character development. Goal, motivation and conflict up and running. Yeah, baby!

It was a wonderful time! I'm really happy we had a chance to sit and talk too. :)

I had the best time. Thanks again for all your help. I really enjoyed our brainstorming session. And all our talks. Glad I got to "meet" Blinky! :-)

Btw, that Mira book: The Kommandant's Girl by Pam Jenoff.

The other is We Are Their Heaven by Allison DuBois.

Annie Mac, you'll have so much fun!!

Christine and Annette, I loved having the chance to sit and talk with you. The retreat is so wonderful for that - there's enough time to really get into a conversation, much better than at the lunches. It's one of my favorite aspects of going on the retreat in the first place.

And Annette, besides myself, Brad, of course our dog Xena and my cousin Jenny, you're the only person who has seen or heard Blinky. That was amazing!

I came home and wrote a new scene for Finding Home that I loved!! I had a brainstorm and just grabbed the alphie and had at it. Glad you had a great time. The retreats are always a blast. It's going to feel weird not being the one organizing it next year!
